50 hour Yoga Teacher Training Refresher Course

The 50 hour refresher course is designed for our 200 hour graduates. This week-long, residential, course is designed to refresh the knowledge and skills learned during the Arhanta Yoga 200 hour Yoga teacher training. The course also provides the opportunity for students to share their experiences and to ask for advice concerning any questions or difficulty they might have come across while teaching.

According to Yoga Alliance US, all yoga teachers are required to attend at least 30 hours of continued education in the field of yoga every 3 years, in order to maintain and enhance their knowledge and continue their teacher registration.

During the 50 hour refresher course you will

  • Practice pranayama and meditation daily
  • Review and practice the up-dated corrections, modifications and adjustments
  • Improve your practice of advanced asanas daily
  • Review the core principles of yogic philosophy
  • Deepen your understanding of relevant yoga anatomy
  • Review and practice the principles for sequencing

The Arhanta Yoga 50 hour Refresher Course takes place at the Arhanta Yoga Ashram Netherlands. The ashram is situated outside the small village of Varsseveld near Arnhem in the east of the Netherlands. It is located within lush green fields in the Dutch country side, providing an ideal setting for intensive learning and introspection. The ashram is very well-connected to the Dutch public transportation network. The Dutch International Airport in Amsterdam (Schiphol) is only 2 hours away.

Meet the Teachers – 50 hour Refresher Course

Course Director – Ram Jain

Ram JainRam Jain is the main teacher and director of Arhanta Yoga. He has over 20 years of teaching experience and is registered as experienced yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500) with more than 40,000 hours of teaching experience. He has taught/mentored over 4000 yoga teachers from all over the world. Ram was born and raised in India. His education of yoga and Vedic philosophy started at the age of 8 and was part of his primary education program. Ram has a profound knowledge of many ancient writings such as the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika. He also has ample knowledge of anatomy and physiology. He has studied with and learned from famous teachers like Guru Ramananda (descendant of Swami Sivananda), Swami Premananda and Shri Shamboo. He is teaching worldwide since 1998 and is known and loved for his unique skill to get the best out of his students and for his interesting and inspiring philosophy stories and teachings.

Kalyani Hauswirth-Jain

KalyaniKalyani was born and raised in Switzerland. Since early adolescence she has been fascinated by art, bodywork, the body-mind connection, and alternative therapies. Following her strong inclination for art and physical expression she emigrated to the Netherlands at the age of 19 to study Modern Dance. Soon after she was exposed to the teachings and practice of yoga and was immediately mesmerized. The mother of two children now, she has been teaching yoga for 10 years, training yoga teachers for more than six years at the Arhanta Yoga Ashrams in India and the Netherlands. In 2013 she became Creative Director at Arhanta Yoga Ashram Netherlands. She brings her positive and hard working attitude in her classes. Starting off with physical challenges, she transformed her body, mastering many advanced asanas with her regular practice and discipline. By following a diligent self-practice, working with many different teachers, styles, and techniques, she gained a profound understanding of physiology and movement techniques.Her personal practice is inspiring and her words are always motivating. Her caring and nurturing teaching style has made her the favorite teacher of many students.

Ram and Kalyani are the authors of the acclaimed and internationally sold book Hatha Yoga for Teachers & Practitioners: A Comprehensive Guide to Holistic Sequencing. In this guide, Ram and Kalyani explain how yoga poses affect the internal body and how systematic yoga sequencing can increase your holistic health and well being. He explains the medically-proven benefits of yoga and presents the ancient principles of sequencing asanas according to their corresponding chakras (energy centres).

Eligibility Criteria

We welcome students from all age, background and beliefs. The most important factors you should consider before applying are:

  • You should have a sincere desire to work hard, adapt and grow beyond your comfort zone
  • You should be mentally and physically fit to follow the course
  • You should have at least some basic understanding of the English language
  • It’s not recommended to follow this course while pregnant, please contact us if you have questions about this subject
  • You should have graduated from a 200 hour Yoga teacher training


After successful completion of the course you will receive a 50 hour certification of completion.. The certification is accredited by Yoga Alliance, International Yoga Federation, European Yoga Association and CRKBO, and it is also accepted by all major yoga federations worldwide.
