About The Course Teacher,

Ram Jain

(ERYT-500 & YACEP with 40,000 hours of Teaching Experience)

Ram Jain (ERYT-500, YACEP) is a master teacher with over 40000 hours of teaching experience. Ram has served for more than 22 years in the field of yoga and philosophy teaching.

Ram was born in India, in a spiritual Jain Hindu family. His yoga and Vedic philosophy education started at the age of eight years as he was sent to a Vedic school for his formal education.

Ram has trained and practiced under traditional Indian teachers such as Guru Ramananda (from the Swami Sivananda lineage), as well as modern day teachers like Paul Grilley (developer of Yin Yoga).

In 2007, Ram came to the Netherlands. Due to the language barrier and the lack of any contacts, he did not find any job for one year. Struggling to survive, he started teaching yoga to few students in his living room. In last 12 years, his small class has developed into two large yoga ashrams: Arhanta Yoga Ashram India, spread over 17 acres, and Arhanta Yoga Ashram Netherlands, spread over 4 acres of land.

During his 22 years of teaching career, Ram has worked with various anatomy and physiology experts and has developed unique teaching, adjustment, and modification techniques.

Often called 'the storyteller' by his students, Ram is loved for his ability to explain complex concepts in simple words with the help of humorous stories. His mission is to help people realize their potential and live a more conscious & prosperous life.

Ram will be available to answer your questions or doubts during and after the course.

Here’s what people are saying about the course

I am a yoga teacher who teaches to older individuals and through local hospitals. I particularly benefited from the section about modifications & variations of poses that included props and supports, very informative.  I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in taking a Yin yoga teacher training.

This online course material, especially Ram's class videos are very good. It felt like I am attending a face to face class. By following this course I am now successfully giving yin yoga classes. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to teach yin yoga.

I am very happy with the quality and depth of the content of this yin teacher training. All the information is clear and to the point and never gets boring. I especially enjoyed the onsite class recordings and lessons with Ram. Now I certainly feel confident to teach yin yoga classes at my yoga studio.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yin Yoga?

In brief, Yin yoga is a yoga style which focuses on stretching the deep connective tissues like ligaments, tendons and fascia to improve the range of motion and mobility in the joints.

How is Yin Yoga different from other styles?

In comparison to other yoga styles like Vinyasa Yoga, in yin yoga the poses are held for a duration of 3-10 minutes. Whereas in most of the yoga styles the poses are dynamic or aimed to develop strength, balance and flexibility, in Yin Yoga the poses are passive and aimed to increase flexibility and mobility.

What can I do after this teacher training?

You can teach professionally or semi-professionally in a yoga school or start your own classes. After the training you can share the practice of Yin Yoga with people from all background and from all yoga experience level.

How to register Contact hour at Yoga Alliance?

If you are a registered RYT 200, you can use this certificate to add 50 CE hours of training hours to your profile. Due to Corona pandemic, Yoga Alliance deems certain online courses as onsite contact hour courses. Our course is approved to be submitted as contact hours. After the course you will see instructions to add it to your profile

How do I become a Yin Yoga teacher with this training?

To become a Yin Yoga teacher you must know enough about Yin Yoga to teach it safely. You should know following:

  • all the main postures,
  • alignments,
  • benefits,
  • safety issues,
  • hands-on assists,
  • anatomy,
  •  physiology,
  • philosophy,
  • sequencing

Like just only by reading about swimming will not make you expert swimmer, apart from all the theoretical knowledge, you will also need to practice teaching. You will need to learn and practice;

  • cueing
  • voice modulations
  • guided relaxation
  • verbal assists
  • art of touching
  •  teachers posture

What certification do I need to teach Yin Yoga?

Even though there are no minimum certification requirements, a 50 hour instructor certification is a must to be considered a professional training. A Yoga Alliance accredited certification is preferred as it is recognized worldwide.

Difference between 200 hour Hatha Yoga and 50 hour Yin Yoga

The 200 hour Hatha training is a foundational training where you learn all about yoga in general and 50 hour Yin yoga teacher training is the additional training specific to Yin Yoga. If you want to become a professional yoga teacher then you should also complete 200 hour training as it is required to register as RYT with Yoga Alliance.

Fantastic Course!!

Thank you Ram for a wonderful online Yin Yoga Training Course. I have wanted to do my Yin training for a while, but was sceptical about training online, as I enjoy learning more practically. But this course was perfect. Easy to follow, very informative and Ram is an amazing teacher. I have now booked onto Yoga Nidra!!!

Brilliant Course

This is the first online yoga course I have done and it exceeded my expectations, brilliant video's and great communication and support when needed. I'll will totally do another one at some point soon! Thank you so much 🙂

Amazing experience

The course is well organized, professional, and exhaustive.

Great Experience

This course is very informative, well structured and composed. A valuable element is the way of conducting classes referring to the structure of traditional teaching - mantra before and after the session, wearing a uniform by the tutor, it all adds value to the overall experience. I am very satisfied with the content. I will definitely recommend to anyone interesting in discovering Yin Yoga .

Beyond expectations

The online Yin Teacher Training is clear, professional and complete. Each argument is carefully explained and the most important topics are repeated to ensure the student has well understood. Each question is answered patiently and the teacher is very invested in helping his students. The bonus contents are a great instrument to start teaching feeling more confident. I recommend this TT!
