Global Impact

Global ImpactEarly Life & Traditional Roots

Born into a traditional Jain family in India, Ram began his formal yoga education at the age of eight in a Vedic school where yoga, Sanskrit chanting, meditation, discipline, and yogic philosophy were integrated into daily life.

His first days in yoga training were not easy. Under the guidance of his Guruji, he learned discipline, resilience, humility, and the deeper purpose of yogic practice. One lesson stayed with him for life:

“Courage is not the absence of fear… it is choosing to move forward despite it.”

This early immersion laid the foundation for the depth, clarity, and structured teaching approach for which he is known today.

The Turning Point

In 2007, Ram moved to the Netherlands with limited financial resources, no professional network, and little certainty about the future. During the day, he worked physically demanding laboring jobs in factories and cleaning services while teaching yoga classes in the evenings.

One freezing winter night while cycling to work, his bicycle chain broke repeatedly on an icy road. Sitting alone in the snow, exhausted and overwhelmed, he realized something that would later shape his life and teachings:

“If things were to change, it had to begin with me.”

That moment became the turning point that eventually led to the creation of Arhanta Yoga.

Building Arhanta Yoga

What started as small evening yoga classes in a rented closed school gym hall in Tilburg gradually evolved into an international yoga institution serving thousands of students worldwide.

Ram’s Journey:

Today, Arhanta Yoga is recognized internationally for its comprehensive yoga teacher trainings, disciplined residential programs, and high educational standards.

Two International Yoga Ashrams

Under Ram’s leadership, Arhanta Yoga has grown into a respected international yoga institution with two dedicated residential ashrams in India and the Netherlands.

Unlike commercial yoga retreats focused primarily on lifestyle experiences, Arhanta Yoga trainings emphasize depth, consistency, knowledge, and teaching mastery.

The Meaning Behind Arhanta

The word “Arhanta” comes from Sanskrit and refers to a person who has mastered the five senses and attained inner discipline and self-awareness.

This philosophy forms the foundation of Arhanta Yoga’s teachings: true yoga is not only physical flexibility, but the cultivation of clarity, emotional balance, discipline, and conscious living.

A Unique Teaching Approach

Ram Jain is widely respected for his ability to simplify complex yogic teachings into structured and accessible systems that students can apply in both teaching and daily life.

His teaching integrates:

Students often describe his teaching style as clear, grounded, practical, and deeply transformative, without dogma, performance spirituality, or unnecessary mysticism.
