Learning to Teach Yoga with Clarity and Confidence
Becoming a yoga teacher is a meaningful step. For many people, it begins with a personal yoga practice that brings clarity, balance, and strength. Over time, a natural question arises:
Can I share this practice safely and responsibly with others?
This 200-hour yoga teacher training in Europe, held at our ashram in the Netherlands, is designed for people who want to make that transition with confidence. It is not only about deepening your own practice, but also about learning how to teach yoga clearly, safely, and professionally to real students.
The training is offered by Arhanta Yoga, an established yoga education school with roots in India and more than 18 years of experience training yoga teachers worldwide. With more than 24000 graduates, our program has been refined over time to focus on what matters most:
practical teaching skills, clear structure, and confidence.
Who This Training Is For
This training is suitable for aspiring yoga teachers and serious yoga practitioners who feel ready to take the next step in their journey. You do not need prior teaching experience, high flexibility, or an advanced practice.
Right for you if:
- You enjoy practicing yoga but feel unsure about teaching others
- You want a clear and structured approach to learning
- You value authentic yoga education combined with professional standards
- You are looking for an internationally recognised certification
This training may not be the right fit if your main goal is a holiday, retreat or relaxation experience.
The focus here is on learning how to teach yoga responsibly.
When Practice Feels Good, But Teaching Feels Uncertain
Many aspiring yoga teachers feel confident in their own practice but hesitate when it comes to teaching others. This hesitation is very common and completely natural.
Some of the most common concerns include:
- How to keep students safe and prevent injuries
- How to structure and sequence a full class
- What to say while teaching without feeling nervous or lost
- How to guide a group with calm authority
Teaching yoga requires a different skill set than practicing yoga. This training is designed to support that transition, helping you move from personal understanding to confident teaching through guided practice.
Why Many 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings Leave Students Unsure
Many 200-hour yoga teacher trainings place strong emphasis on philosophy, theory, or personal practice. While these elements are valuable, they are often not balanced with enough real teaching practice.
Based on more than 18 years of experience and feedback from over 24000+ graduates, Arhanta Yoga has observed a consistent pattern: many students complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training unsure how to teach a full class on their own.
Without repeated teaching practice, graduates may know many yoga postures and philosophy concepts, but struggle with:
- Sequencing a complete class
- Clear verbal cueing
- Giving corrections
- Adapting poses for different body types
This insight directly shaped how this training is designed.
How This Training Is Designed to Build Teaching Confidence
Instead of overwhelming you with information, the training follows a clear, step-by-step structure.
You receive:
- Clear class structures
- Regular teaching practice from day one
- Practical alignment and anatomy
- Direct, supportive feedback
Teaching, cueing, giving corrections, and offering modifications are practiced throughout the course, not saved for the end.
As a result, your skills and confidence build steadily, and teaching feels natural by the time you finish.
Authentic Roots in India: Why This Matters
Arhanta Yoga originates from India, the birthplace of yoga.
The Arhanta Yoga Ashram in the Netherlands is the European branch of the Arhanta Yoga Ashram in India. Since 2008, Arhanta has offered yoga teacher training in Europe through the same teaching principles, standards, and methods developed at its Indian ashram.
The European training follows the same teaching principles, standards, and methods as the Indian ashram. The teachers also remain the same to ensure continuity, depth, and authenticity.
With Arhanta Yoga, you receive authentic yoga education with clear structure and professional teaching standards.

Extremely Interesting
“Very nice atmosphere. Great teachers, interested in teaching well, learned very much. I loved the asana class, appreciation and motivation was very good. Philosophy was a nice impulse to think about. How to teach was hard but so helpful in learning how to teach because of the practical practice. Thank you for this beautiful time here!”

So Helpful
The teacher training course was really nice. I got the opportunity to experience yoga in a different way. Beside the asanas you simply learn to live it more completely through these 4 weeks. A lot of background knowledge and structure guided everyone of us through the course. All teachers are very competent complementing each other in a very calm way. I will remember the time in the ashram with its awesome scenery in a very positive way.

I Learned So Much Of This Course!
“I choose this yoga teacher certification program because it’s very complete. You learn philosophy, anatomy, how to teach, asanas, diet… The course has a very strict schedule, but thanks to that we are now stronger. After the training you are more confident and you can teach in a very good way. The teachers are very professional and take good care for the students. Thank you.”

Amazing Teaching!
“A lifetime experience. Coming together with a group of 27 people from all over the world. We grew tight together; we went through a lot of emotions and a lot of genuine hugs and kisses. The ‘how to teach’ classes were extremely professional and we all started to love Omkar. Thank you Arhanta. Can’t wait to send my daughter next year.”
by Karin, Swinse, Netherlands
Awesome Course!
“Teachers are very professional and they have good technique to help students go deeper into their practice of asana. I find ‘how to teach’ class extremely useful because you grow step by step in a whole process to get more confidence in teaching and in how to give a proper yoga lesson. I have learnt a lot in terms of technique, theory and practise in only 1 month.”
