Yin Yoga Teacher Certification

Yin Yoga targets deep layers of connective tissue in our bodies—layers that feel and work differently for each of us. In this Yin Yoga Teacher Training, Dr. Ram Jain shares his 26 years of teaching experience and anatomical knowledge, showing you how to practice and teach Yin Yoga for all levels. Having trained over 21,000 teachers since 1998, he combines traditional yoga knowledge with the latest scientific research to guide both practitioners and aspiring teachers in Yin.

This online training builds your foundation of Yin Yoga from day one. Starting with foundational principles, you'll understand the history of Yin, its purpose, and how it works with our deeper tissues and skeletal systems. With Dr. Ram’s guidance, you’ll study 65 Yin Yoga poses in detail, learning how different body types experience each pose, which modifications work, and the proper use of props. This Yin Yoga Teacher Training also covers essential but often overlooked skills—like how to access the right depth in poses and create sequences for different levels.

Arhanta’s Yin Yoga Teacher Training is online and self-paced, but still gives you the complete support and active community to deepen your skills and experience. During regular live sessions, you’ll get the chance to ask Dr. Ram about specific poses or teaching challenges, whether it's working with knee pain or helping anxious students find comfort in stillness. This 50-hour Yin training is also fully accredited by Yoga Alliance, counting toward your continuing education hours.

"Thank you very much! Our teacher explained yin yoga poses, philosophy, and how to be a teacher deeply. It was easy to follow and included all the necessary information. Asking my questions with messages helped me a lot. I wish all the Yin Classes were like topic six under the sequencing module, a full-length class with our teacher. His approach was based on anatomy rather than meridians. Namaste!"

Meet Dr. Ram Jain,

Namaste,

I am Dr. Ram Jain, founder of Arhanta Yoga Ashrams & Online Academy and the creator of this online yoga teacher training.

Growing up in a family where yoga has been our way of life for five generations has given me a unique perspective on these ancient practices. My training in the Sivananda tradition and intensive study of sacred texts at Vedic school—from the Upanishads to the Yoga Sutras—allows me to share yoga's profound principles in clear, practical ways.

As an ERYT-500 & YACEP certified instructor, my mission has always been to make yoga's authentic teachings accessible to all—whether through our online academy, in-person trainings, or my Amazon bestseller "Hatha Yoga for Teachers & Practitioners." To date, our yoga ashrams in India and the Netherlands, along with our online academy, have guided over 21000 teachers to certification.

I hope this course gives you the same joy and depth of understanding that yoga has brought to my life and my family for generations.

Our Teaching Approach

Benefit from 5 Generations of Yoga Heritage

Our approach to teaching yoga comes from five generations of lived experience. We've learned that every student is unique, shaped by their physical abilities, personal goals, and inner journey. This understanding guides how we teach at Arhanta.

We don't believe in rigid, one-size-fits-all alignment. Instead, we recognize that each body tells its own story. You'll learn to guide students with this same awareness, understanding their needs and helping them find their best expression of each pose. While we honor yoga's traditional roots, we teach these principles in ways that speak to modern practitioners.

At Arhanta Yoga, we help you develop more than teaching skills. You'll gain deep knowledge of yoga's philosophy, build genuine confidence, and discover your authentic voice as a teacher and practitioner.

Online Trainings since 2017

In 2017 we decided to provide online versions of our yoga teacher training as we were getting requests from people who could not travel to our ashrams.

I was intrigued by the outcome, so we created this online version to see where the virtual journey would take us. When we announced it on social media, we were bombarded with negative comments; some believed it was impossible to learn yoga online.

The outcome surprised us all. Within the first six months, more than a thousand practitioners had already enrolled in our online training program.

Hundreds of five-star reviews gave us confidence, and regular feedback helped us refine the online course to make it entirely user-friendly, with added value for our students.

  • Practitioners who love Yin Yoga and want to advance their skills and knowledge
  • Experienced instructors looking to continue their education or gain new insights
  • New instructors looking for guidance and support
  • Educators from a similar line of work (school teachers, gym/pilates instructors) looking to add Yin classes to their work field

How long does this Yin Yoga Teacher Training take?

This is a 50-hour Yin Yoga TTC. You can finish the course within eight days or take your time—it’s completely up to you. However, to ensure a proper learning experience, the lessons are given in a drip method, meaning you have to complete one lesson before moving on to the next. Most of the students finish the course in 2-4 weeks studying part-time.

When does this training start and end?

This course is self-paced, with no deadlines or fixed timings. You can start and complete it at your convenience.

What can I do after this course?

After this Yoga Alliance certified program, you will have a strong foundation in the theory and practical training of Yin Yoga. You can work full-time or part-time as a yoga teacher at a professional studio, or you can run your own classes as a yoga business owner.

Will this course certify me as a Yin Yoga instructor?

Yes, you will receive a Yin Yoga instructor/teacher certification upon completion, accredited by the Yoga Alliance,  International Yoga Association, International Yoga Federation, and The CRKBO (Netherlands).

Do you need to be certified to teach Yin Yoga?

There is no legal requirement to be certified to teach Yin Yoga. However, completing a certified training program is highly recommended to ensure you can teach it safely and effectively. Can I teach after just 50 hours of training?

Yes, even though this course is only 50 hours, our graduates share that they actually learn more in this time than they would have in two years of Yin Yoga practice at home. This is because the structure of our training allows you to dedicate your energy solely to yoga.

However, if you want to teach, a 200-hour yoga teacher training course in any other style (Hatha Yoga) is generally recommended. A 200-hour YTT gives you a wide range of general yoga knowledge, while this course specifically focuses on developing your skills in teaching Yin Yoga professionally.

What's the difference between Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a gentle, passive style of yoga, popularized by Paul Grilley. Principles of Yin Yoga are very different from the principles of Restorative Yoga. Read more here: Yin Yoga versus Restorative Yoga–What Are the Differences and Similarities?

What makes this training different from others ?

Arhanta's Yin Yoga Online Teacher Training offers comprehensive lessons on traditional Yin Yoga, taught by authentic Indian teachers with five generations of yoga heritage. This self-paced, fully online course also includes lifetime teacher support, ensuring you have guidance whenever you need it.
